Chunauti deals with various prevailing student problems such as admission, donations, ragging, miserable hostel conditions, drug addiction, irresponsible lecturers, plagiarism and other issues that make for an interesting, topical and sometimes controversial story line.

CHUNAUTI is about an idealist principal at college, who wants to curb the unhealthy practises carried on in his college and maintain discipline, but at the same time giving the students the responsibility and respect that they deserve.

He believes that a new approach to education is necessary and that social and moral values should receive greater emphasis. His reformative approach creates a discontent among a certain section of both students and staff and they revolt against him.

However, after a lot of pain and heartache, and difficult but certainly not hopeless situations, he comes out a winner with the help of both his current and his former students.
